THE FULL STORY

I'm a gardener, but the Colorado front range growing season is short. It is only about 6 months long if we are lucky. I found myself missing my plants the other 6 months of the year, and the delightful show they put forth. I wanted to find a way to continue enjoying them and express my creativity at the same time.

In 2018, I discovered the art of casting concrete with various leaves. Since then I became dedicated to casting all kinds of leaves and painting them once they have cured for several weeks.

My favorite choice for concrete casting is Rhubarb. It grows well here in Colorado, and the beautiful large leaves are adorned with its veins and ruffles. My castings are unique in the way that I sculpt those details. Color washes and dry brushed layers of acrylic paints make the castings ‘come alive’ again—almost by magic. Castings are made in several sizes and shapes and are transformed into wall displays, decorative bowls (not food safe), birdbaths, water features, and other forms of artistic expression.

WORDS OF WISDOM

"May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love. It is there for each and every one of us."

- St. Therese
